English council by-elections, 2022–2023

Local elections were held in England on 5th May 2022, and will next be held on 4th May 2023. Between local elections, hundreds of by-elections are held to fill vacancies that arise.

Since the 2022 local elections, the Green Party, Labour Party, and Liberal Democrats have seen gains, and the Conservative Party has suffered large losses.
